There was a time in the mid-eighties that every recording studio HAD to have a pair of these sitting on the meter bridge, or you weren't legit. I'm the original owner of these, and I mixed a lot of records with them. I think I bought them in 1985. They have some scuffs and blemishes, but I hooked them up yesterday for the first time in a few years, and they work flawlessly. They have never been overdriven, or played too loudly. As they are near-field monitors, we used them to track and mix at fairly low volumes. They will crank, though. The photos show the blemishes/scuffs/character more than you would notice after living with them awhile. The spots on the woofers may be coffee or a fungus, but they absolutely do not affect the performance in any way, and as the cones are paper-based, I don't advise going after them with any sort of cleaning solution, or even water. These are 100% original, no modifications have been done, these are the original drivers and crossovers. We used to put a small piece of tissue paper over the tweeters ala Bob Clearmountain, and it would be held in place with masking tape. The mystery of exactly which brand of tissue Clearmountain used was never solved as far as I know. Do some research, it's fun to read about these things.
Still, to this day, studios around the world still have NS10Ms sitting on the meter board. If you can make a mix sound good on these, it'll sound good on anything!
These are vintage speakers, and as such, are sold AS IS. NO RETURNS.
